Warren Buffet who is considered the godfather of investing won a million-dollar bet. His bet was that including fees, costs and expenses, an S&P 500 index fund (which is passively managed, like how I teach) would outperform a hand-picked portfolio of hedge fund over 10 years. This bet pit two basic investing philosophies against each other – passive vs. active investing.
